In recent years, with the economic growth and the energy requirement increasing in Southeast Asian countries, the cooperation between China and Southeast Asia in electricity trade and investment is accelerating. There are abundant hydropower resources in Southeast Asia. At present, some countries in Southeast Asia, which have partially realized small-scale electricity interconnection, have high demand for electricity, but the level of development is backward, demonstrated by the fact that power infrastructure is still underdeveloped and available electricity and development funds suffer shortage. According to the International Energy Agency, more than a fifth of the population in Southeast Asia still lacks electricity. In 2035, the energy demand of Southeast Asian countries will increase by more than 80 percent, equivalent to the current total energy consumption in Japan.
Affected by geographical conditions, Indonesia's electricity population is small, resulting in the phenomenon that people are highly dependent on diesel power generation. According to local conditions in Southeast Asia, Hengtong has provided many sets of power products and solutions to Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and other countries, and has established long-term friendly relationship. In the future, Hengtong will further develop and expand in markets such as Laos, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam and New Zealand to continue its efforts to achieve global energy connectivity.
